I've got lots of things planned, but I've got a feature freeze on v1.0. Things you'll see in future releases include:
  • Each item in the results list will have a number of sub-properties associated with it (e.g. a Contact will have a Name, email address, phone number, etc.). You'll be able to perform an Action on one of those sub-properties.
  • Caching searches to file (in sql db format) instead of memory. This way far more results can be cached with mimimal overhead and not a huge hit on performance (i.e. speed will be faster than "real time" search but slower than "offline".
  • When I implement the previous feature, we'll then be able to allow the program to learn from your usage so items you select will "float" to the top of the list over time, etc.
  • Ability to peform searches "within" files, rather than just on file names.
  • Skinning.
  • More Outlook integration so you can create with/view/edit things like Tasks, Appointments, etc. You'll also be able to do mail searches from and have the results show up in the list.
  • Have web search results show up in the results list rather than in your web browser.
  • Global Hotkeys to perform actions. e.g. you can map hot-keys to launch commonly used programs or other frequently used activities.
  • An action to go directly to a folder, which you can map to a hot key.
  • Better search algorithms with more choices in how it will search.
  • Options in how to organize results in list.
  • Integration with Trillian and other chat programs so you can initiate chats from the command line
  • [/list:u]

There are lots of other smaller features I plan to add, but this is the list of major features I have planned. Anything in particular you'd like to see?

Yes. I've put int a ton of work getting the core functionality solid and extensible. I've got a lot of plans, as you can see in the previous post.

It will remain free indefinitely. However, if this ends up taking up way too much of my time, I may have a change of heart, but early adopters (like yourself) will likely get it gratis. I don't plan on it becoming open source, at least not yet. However, I've built in a plugin arcitechture which is designed to allow users to do anything they want. I just haven't released the SDK yet, since it's in major flux right now.

And no, I'm not using IE for anything. I use Firefox, and I had to temporarily switch my default browser to IE just to squash a few bugs I was blissfully unaware of that another user pointed out. Cheesy
